Background NoteLi & Fung was founded in Guangzhou in 1906 by Fung Pak Liu and Li To-ming. The company began by exporting porcelain and silk from China. Later, it moved into bamboo, jade, ivory, handicrafts and fireworks. As the Canton port was shallow, Li & Fung began to use Hong Kong, a better equipped port, in 1937.
